JENKS TEX CARMAN LP
THE WRECK OF OLD NO. 9
REM Records # LP-1007
Known as The Dixie Cowboy, Jenks has a unique style of playing the steel guitar. He was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. Complemented by his original ideas, Jenks developed a steel guitar form that is so unusual that it found him instant favor with those who heard it. The best description we ever heard of Jenks Tex Carman was from a writer who called him - an offbeat hillbilly hula musician. This album is on the private REM Record Label, from Lexington, Kentucky.
The record is clean and looks like it has been played only a small number of times. If you look closely, there is a bit of surface marking on the grooves, which probably was caused from years of storage against the inner sleeve. I saw no scratches or anything that is even close to being able to be felt on the record. The labels have no spindle marks. The cover still has lots of its original gloss left and a small amount of wear. There are ten tiny staple holes around the corner edges, but these are not very distracting. The corners, seams, and spine all look excellent and there are no tears or writing anywhere.
